- The C110 Nissan Skyline was introduced in Japan in 1972 and followed the now-famous C10 “Hakosuka” generation.
- The nickname “Kenmeri” came from a hugely successful Japanese advertising campaign featuring a fictional young couple named Ken and Mary. Their association with the Skyline became so memorable that enthusiasts began referring to the C110 generation itself as the Kenmeri.
- Nissan produced a GT-R version of the C110 Skyline designated KPGC110, making it the second generation to wear the legendary GT-R badge.
- The KPGC110 GT-R became exceptionally rare because its production run was extremely short, ending as changing emissions requirements and the global oil crisis reshaped the performance-car market.
